About Our Resources

I just had to write and tell you how helpful your website was to me in my first nanny search.  I had no idea where to start and your downloads gave me useful information on just about every topic.  Thanks for all your help!

Sarah, mother of 3 month old daughter

Great website!  You’ve done a thorough job of putting together the information that is most important to parents.

About the A to Z Nanny Contract

Thank you for the Contract.  I must say, from one professional to another, I am quite impressed by your customer service. To be called personally and then have the contract customized to suit my specific needs is almost unheard of in today's world.  Kudos to you!  I will be in touch.  Again, I thank you for your expertise.

Elizabeth

I was hesitant when my wife suggested we buy your A to Z contract.  With all the free contracts out there on the web, why pay for one?  But after looking yours over I’m convinced.  Like they say, you get what you pay for.

Rob Johnson, Chicago, IL

When we hired our first nanny 2 years ago, my agency told me I could find free nanny contracts online.  I thought I could just download a sample and fill it in.  Wishful thinking!  I spent over 6 hours searching the web, cutting and pasting bits and pieces from different contracts together, trying to patchwork something that worked for us.   But even after all that work, it still didn’t answer a lot of the questions that came up with my nanny.  This time we were smart and went with your A to Z contract.  $50 is a small price to pay for a hassle-free contract that covers it all.

Selia Harrison, Baltimore, MD

I was convinced we had worked out all the details of our job in the interview but a coworker urged me to complete the A to Z contract anyway.  Boy, was she right!  You asked questions we never even thought about.  And the best part was you gave us the answers too.  It was like having a someone walk you through the whole thing step by step.  Thanks for such a great nanny contract!

Myra Wilson, Boston, MA

I’m a first time employer and to be honest, I had no idea what a nanny contract was.  Although everyone kept telling me to get one!  But using your no-brainer formula I put together a great contract that has already helped me avoid misunderstandings with my nanny.  So from both of us, thank you!

Ed Harris, Montclair, NJ

When we hired our last nanny, I didn’t think we needed a contract.  The job is pretty straightforward.  But it was soon apparent that my definition of things was quite different than her definition of things.  The problems seemed trivial at first but over time, they because real problems and caused us to part ways.  If I would have completed your contract with our last nanny, our differences would have come to light and we wouldn’t have kept her past the trial period.  This time we are doing the contract before our new nanny moves in to make sure we are really on the same page.

Mike Bellwood, St. Peters, MO

My nanny started 3 months ago and to be honest, I hadn’t put a contract in place because I haven’t had the time to make one up.  My husband found yours online last week and to my delight, it only took us 35 minutes from start to finish.  Your format made the usual cutting, pasting and editing unnecessary.  Thanks!

Kathy Moore, Seattle, WA

My nanny is a friend of the family and attends our church.  Since we share a close friendship, I didn’t think we needed a formal contract.  But after stumbling through a few small problems, I realized that we wouldn’t stay friends for long if we didn’t talk about the details of the job and what we wanted and needed from her.  Your contract made it easy to ask some tough questions (it’s always easier when someone else is asking!) and now we both have a much clearer idea of what’s expected.

About Our Consulting Services

Lora, I wanted to thank you for your help in finding Shelly.  She has proven to be a wonderful nanny to the boys and a great help to us.  As I said before, I have encountered some less than helpful agencies in my time but I was still wary of finding a nanny on my own.  To my delight, your service surpassed all of my expectations and made the process very easy.  I’ve paid thousands of dollars for past placements and have never had anyone walk me through the process like you did.  Our initial conversation made me realize our needs have changed now that our sons are in school.  As a result, we expanded our requirements to include someone able to take on some of the household responsibilities.  I can’t tell you what a difference that has made.  It is like finding an extra hour at the end of my day!  Again, thanks so much for offering such a great service.

About Our Educational Programs

This workshop is the best I’ve ever attended!  I learned how to talk to my employers about the problems I’m having with them.  I don’t feel like I have to grin and bear it or quit my job anymore.  You showed me the middle ground.

The important thing about your training is that communication skills are important in all facets of life.  The focus of the skills taught are helpful no matter what population of people you deal with.  Family child care has a close relationship to being a nanny.  It is a form of child care that affords the provider the opportunity to work intimately with families.  Being able to communicate with them is essential.  A provider needs to have a clear idea of their individual wants, desires and expectations of families who enter their home.  Child care providers often complain about being taken advantage of.  If proper communication does not happen in the beginning of a relationship it is often very difficult to change later on.  Your workshop lists some very simple but specific skills.  The next step is for the provider to embrace them and put them to use.  I would recommend this workshop to anyone who has the opportunity to attend.

About Lora Brawley

Because she has been a nanny for many years, Lora's commitment to the nanny industry is very passionate. She is a constant force for professionalism within the industry. (The contract alone is worth it's weight in gold!) Her advocacy for nannies has made a difference in the media and with the public at large. But most of all, it is Lora's helpful and personal advice and counsel that makes me turn to her time and time again. I have referred many nannies to her as well as many families and will continue to do so. Thanks Lora!

Sue Downey, nanny of 11 years

Co-Founder of Philly Nannies, a nanny organization serving the greater Philadelphia area

Lora is a powerhouse of ideas and energy serving nannies and the nanny profession.   She has generated several innovative workshops which she has done free for nanny groups in the Boston area on topics like assertive communication with employers and effective salary negotiations.   Her website and newsletter have been wonderful resources, and always very professionally done.  She has been the driving force behind NANC, the organization she founded in order to invent and establish a nationwide nanny credential system, which will raise the level of childcare and public awareness of the professionalism of nannies in this country.   And she has always been available to help individual nannies in whatever way she can.  I couldn't think more highly of her and her work.

I met Lora Brawley while I was searching for a nanny position and although Lora didn’t actually place me with my family, she has been my number one resource throughout the entire process.  I called Lora many times for advice and questions about different positions.  Even after I was placed she would not only return my calls but had a sincere willingness to give me sound and useful advice.
